The annual Spring Carnival Festival is taking place on Monday, 17th of March, 2025.In the interest of the safe delivery of this annual event, a number of traffic restrictions will be in place to facilitate the carnival parade on this date. Motorists are advised to expect some delays and diversions in the City Centre to facilitate the annual Spring Carnival Parade.

The Spring Carnival Parade will depart Bishop Street Carpark at 3.00pm with crowds expected to gather in advance.

Traffic Restrictions
There are no closures in place but Traffic Management will be in place to support the Polices safe implementation of effective Traffic Manageamet for the Parade.
Lane closures will be installed from 2.00pm. Bishop Street, Shipquay Street, Foyle Embankment, Harbour Square, Queens Quay, Strand Road will be closed to traffic for varying lengths of time during the parade, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
Alternative diversion routes will be available during these times. Please note that all times are approximate, and that road closures and diversions will be kept to the minimum length necessary to ensure safety.
There will be no City Centre on-street parking on Bishop Street, The Diamond and Shipquay Street on the 17th March from 7.00am to allow for the safe setup and passage of the Carnival Parade.
Parking on Asylum Road or Strand Road will be restricted to allow for Parade participation.
Parking restrictions
Drivers are reminded that as normal they should avoid parking anywhere they may be blocking entrances to residences or businesses or where they may be obstructing emergency access.
