Home Accident Prevention
Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Home Safety Service focusses on home accident prevention for those Over 65, those who are vulnerable and families with children Under 5.
As part of our Service and in order to reduce accidents in the home, our Home Safety Officers undertake a home visits which last approximately 1 hour to provide practical advice and information and were possible equipment. The visit will consider all areas of the home.

Free Bus Pass & Concessions
To apply for a 60+ SmartPass you must be aged between 60 and 64 and permanently resident in Northern Ireland for a minimum of three months. To apply for a Senior (65+) SmartPass you must be aged 65+ and permanently resident in Northern Ireland for a minimum of three months. Health professionals can refer patients to the Physical Activity Referral Programme to help improve, manage or prevent health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, depression high/low BMI.
