Death and Stillborn Registration
Legislation has been implemented to allow death registrations to be carried out without family attending the Registration office.
Family need to complete the Death Registration GRO73 form and scan or photograph the completed form to [email protected]. You do not need to visit the office as the Registrar will get in touch by phone when they have received the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death, Coroner’s Report or Stillbirth Certificate to confirm details of your loved one.
You can then advise how many Death Certificates you need, there is a fee of £8 for each one. Staff can collect the payment by card over the phone and post the official Death Certificate to you.
We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your loved one. During this time staff would like to thank you for your understanding as it will take a little longer to look after families.
