Energy Support

Energy Support

The definition of fuel poverty used by Govt, is a household that is spending more than 10% of its household income on all fuel use.  A household is considered to be in severe fuel poverty if it needs to spend more than 15% of income on all fuel use.

The most recent official figure for fuel poverty in NI was measured by the 2016 NIHE Housing Condition Survey and shows that 22% of households in NI are living in fuel poverty.

The Mayor is hosting a webinar with officers from NI Housing Executive and National Energy Action, who can provide information on the schemes and supports that they offer to help households who are struggling with fuel and energy bills.
