Echo Echo Festival presents four short solos by outstanding local, national and international artists...
Zoe Ramsey – Echoes of a Dance
"What was, what is and what's next. It all feels too much at the same time and yet at the same time not too much at all. I feel the fear and do it anyway and what was will Echo through me".
Choreography & performance by Zoe Ramsey
Music composed by Zoe's Dad: Jes McSparron
Laurie Keegan Schneider – Interstitially
This solo dance delves into how we meet, move, grieve, and celebrate together, weaving threads of the physical, emotional, and natural worlds. It is a meditation on the fluidity of connection, an homage to the cycles of life, and a call to embrace the profound unity within and beyond.
Created in playful collaboration with Choreographer Rachel Wynne, Writer Jody O'Neill and Composer N.C Lawlor.
Grete Šmitaite – Cracks
'Cracks' starts from the dystopia caused by being alone. Yet, the person cannot manage to stay whole. Being cracked and multiple the person hides one's complexity, thus violating oneself. Scratching one's robustness, one meets oneself striving to relate. The person lies down on the ground. The rain is falling on one's cheeks. The wind whistles in the branches above one's head. One starts to feel an overwhelming desire to relate with oneself and other living and dead human beings, places, animals, plants and seasons.
Maker, performer: Grete Šmitaite
Mentor: Ira Seidenstein
Costume designer: Alissa Šnaider
Light designer: Vilius Vilutis
Karin Raudsepp / Love Andersson - 'Wale/ Flattery'
This solo emerges from an exploration of how a collective body can be represented through movement. Through action and reaction, both the dance and the dancer are formed, addressing the choice between individuality and collectivism. The body, in relation to the space, serves as both a creative resource and a medium. Karin's approach moves fluidly between humour, symbolism, and sweat.
Dancer: Love Andersson
Choreographer: Karin Raudsepp
