Kids Zone
There’s lots of fun and games for the children on offer as part of Flavours of the Foyle, with themed arts and crafts, face painting, street entertainment and music, as well as the Loughs Agency Touch Tank, don’t miss it.
Children also get the chance to experience a taste adventure with Food NI, meet Spreya the Mermaid and get a photo on a huge deckchair!
Mayors Family Funday

Families across the district are being invited to join in the excitement at the Mayor’s special Family Fun Day, taking place during the Flavours of the Foyle Seafood Festival on July 25.
A great chance to allow children to explore the beautiful Guildhall, as well as enjoy some fantastic activities, such as ‘Capture the moment’ at the Camper Van photo booth, dip some treats – no fingers allowed - in the chocolate fountain, and visit the candy corner in the foyer outside the main hall.
There will also be console challenges at ‘Game On’ in the Whittaker Suite and the Main Hall will host a huge bouncy castle, as well as balloon modeling, face painting and arts and craft activities.
All the fun is free but there will be the opportunity to contribute to the Mayor’s chosen charity with a special collection on the day for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Loughs Agency Touch Tank
The kids and adults alike will love the Loughs Agency - Foyle Marine Touch Tank at 'Flavours of the Foyle.' This involves a closer look at some of the marine life commonly found in rock pools along our coast. Crabs, starfish, whelks, hermit crabs, oysters, mussels and more!
Taste Adventure with Food NI
Children - and adults! - can learn from and enjoy 'The Taste Adventure' with Food NI, at #FlavoursoftheFoyle. This is an educational activity which encourages the use of your five senses (hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch) to guess the food product! There are five zones in the taste adventure with fishy surprises at each of them!

Whale Workshop
Whale Workshop!
We're whale-y excited about this new addition to the Programme, a fantastic Whale Workshop in the Guildhall!
At the Mayor's Fun Day, 25th July - come and take your selfie with some of Northern Ireland's amazing marine wildlife, including the Basking Shark (second largest shark in the world) , the awesome Killer Whale, and smaller species including Dolphins, Seals, Porpoise and Leatherback Turtle .
On the Sunday - 26th July come and meet a young Blue Whale, already 15m long at 8 months of age, with a huge appetite for seafood. It will eat tons and tons of Krill every day, until it weighs nearly 100 tons in weight when fully grow at 30m in length...its unbelievable! It makes the loudest noise of any living creature, it has a heart the size of a motor car, its tongue weighs as much as an elephant!
