Switch to repair

We're looking for experienced volunteers with a knack for repairing, crafting and mending to contribute their skills and help keep the electricals we use and love out of landfill.

We'll be running repair cafes across the District over the next year where you can bring broken electrical items to be repaired.

Upcoming Repair Café's in the Derry & Strabane Area:

Derry

📅Saturday 23rd November

📍The Play Trail, Derry

⏰10:30am - 12:30pm

Strabane

📅Saturday 23rd November

📍The Alley Theatre, Strabane

⏰10:30am - 12:30pm

Things we like to fix are (but not limited to)

  • Small Household Electricals
  • Laptops ( Software Diagnostics)
  • Textiles & Leather
  • Toys
  • Sewing Machines
  • Small pieces of Furniture

The rule of thumb is, that if it can be carried into the venue then we'll give it a go!

We also carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

All data on donated laptops will be securely erased. Rest assured that your personal information and sensitive data will be handled with the utmost care and confidentiality. We process data-bearing assets from donating partners and sanitize them using approved data-wiping software. Data wiping stands as the sole assured method of data destruction, with each individual drive generating its own hard drive erasure report, certifying the date and method used. Devices failing the wiping process undergo physical destruction.

By donating your device to Repair & Share Foyle, you agree to release any liability associated with the handling and erasure of data from the donated device.

Thank you once again for your contribution to our cause. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding data erasure or our donation process, please feel free to contact us.
